How It Works

1. 60-Minute Initial Consultation - The process starts with an online, in-studio, or onsite meeting to get to know you and your space. The onsite meeting is available to clients within 60 miles of New Orleans, Louisiana at no extra travel cost. During the consultation, AJM will review inspiration photos, talk about your goals, timeline, budget, and discuss the kitchen remodeling process.

2. Measurements and Photos - At the end of our meeting, we'll take measurements and photos to start designing. For online clients, we'll help you measure and take photos during your virtual meeting.

3. Design - We follow a clear process to create custom kitchen designs, typically taking 6-12 weeks depending on complexity. Our designs are detailed, easy to understand, and include the following:

   • Budgetary Cost Estimate - before we dive into the details, we will help you set a realistic budget goal for your project.

   • Space Planning - If you want to make big changes to the kitchen layout by removing or adding walls, we'll do a space planning study before starting the design drawings. If additional drawings are required, we will let you know the additional cost.

   • Design Drawings - The Design Drawings will contain the following:

     • Cabinetry Design Drawings

     • Kitchen Island Design Drawing

     • Lighting Layout Design Drawing

   • Material Selections that are perfectly paired in a convenient shopping list with clickable links - cabinet color and style, countertop material, light fixtures, sink, faucet, cabinet hardware, paint colors, backsplash, flooring and stools if you have and island. You'll also receive recommendations on appliances or a review of your choices, along with a detailed cost estimate of materials.

   • Unlimited Design Advice during the design process to benefit from our expertise every step of the way.

4. Custom Rendering - Don't worry about picturing your new kitchen—we'll show you! After finalizing the Material Selections and Design Drawings, we'll use 3-D modeling to create a custom color rendering of your kitchen. This rendering will also help the construction team see the final result before they start.

5. Shopping Concierge — Sit back and relax while our Shopping Concierge Team handles the ordering for you. Another perk is you’ll have access to AJM’s special trade discounts which will more than pay for your design service!
